“Enough with the doom and gloom about homeownership.” says The Wall Street Journal
Ok, we have all been on a crazy roller coaster of a ride with the real estate market over the last few years. It has affected each and every one of us in some way and we sat back and licked our wounds for awhile.
National media is still on a rant about the market and the negative chatter really does affect the market and consumer confidence. This drives me a bit nutty as it is well agreed that real estate is LOCAL and NATIONAL news often has very little in common with real estate here in Western Massachusetts.
I am glad to see a bit of a backlash from some media against the constant negative talk and wanted to take a moment to to thank The Wall Street Journal for their good news advice to buyers.
From The Wall Street Journal’s article last week, 10 Reasons to Buy a Home, Brett Arends explains why owning a home is a good thing. Here are the ten reasons that Brett gave (follow the link to the full story for his explanations).
1. You can get a good deal.
2. Mortgages are cheap.
3. You’ll save on taxes.
4. It’ll be yours.
5. You’ll get a better home.
6. It offers some inflation protection.
7. It’s risk capital.
8. It’s forced savings.
9. There is a lot to choose from.
10. Sooner or later, the market will clear.
If you agree with The Wall Street Journal (and little ole me) then give me a call and we will begin the hunt to find your next Western Massachusetts home!
