Last night was our awards dinner, and as I sat there listening and watching everything unfold, I found myself thinking the same thing I always do.
It’s never really been about the awards for me.
What stays with me — what always stays with me — are the people and the stories I’ve been lucky enough to be part of. The moves, the transitions, the big life changes. The happy moments, and sometimes the really hard ones.
That’s the part of this work that never feels routine.
At some point during the evening, I received a recognition for 20 years with Park Square Realty. It honestly caught me off guard. I had to stop for a second and think, “wait… has it really been that long?”
I’ve been in real estate since 1988, so there’s a lot of history behind me. Different markets, different chapters, different versions of how this business has looked over the years.
But these past 20 years — this chapter with Park Square Realty — means a lot to me.
It’s where so many of those stories live. The clients who became familiar names. The families I’ve helped more than once. The quiet moments behind the scenes that no one sees, but that matter just as much as the closing table.
Real estate can look very transactional from the outside. Listings, numbers, contracts.
But that’s never how I’ve experienced it.
For me, it’s always been about people navigating change. Sometimes exciting change, sometimes uncertain change, but always something that matters in a real way.
And to be trusted in that space, over and over again, for this long… that’s not something I take lightly.
So yes, it was a lovely evening. And I’m grateful for the recognition.
But more than anything, I’m grateful for the people who made those 20 years what they are.
