My Travels Through Pinterest

It is no secret that I am social media junkie. I love social media, it has done wondrous things for me and I am an eternal explorer in that space.

My new social media sweetheart is Pinterest, and I am not alone.
According to recent studies, Pinterest is now driving more referral traffic on the web than Google+, YouTube, Reddit, and LinkedIn — combined. This is powerful stuff from a “traffic” perspective, but anyone who has tried Pinterest knows the real power is in its clean, visual and addictive nature.

I have quite a few boards: recipes, fashion inspirations, travel destinations, vision board ideas, home staging tips, Western Massachusetts…all sorts of wonderful things are pinned there. Well, it would simple to pin and run, but I am a woman of action and as such, I have been working my way through my boards and trying things out.

Travels through Pinterest

To date I have made t-shirt scarves and ribbon flowers with my daughters, terrariums, framed “white board”, numerous recipes and have shopped for new apparel with pins in mind.

So, follow me and my journey through Pinterest. What are you pinning these days and have you tried any of the crafts, recipes, designs, etc.? I would love to see pictures, if so. Put the link in the comments below!

fine print: only log into Pinterest if you have done all the productive things you need to do in that day. It is a giant wormhole and can be a timesuck. My friend Jeff wrote a great post about that recently.

Why It Matters if Your Western MA Real Estate Agent is Tech Savvy

Being tech savvy is a long term hobby and love of mine, but it is very important to my success as a REALTOR at Park Square Realty in Western MA.

As a home seller in Western MA you may wonder why this matters to YOU…well, it is huge and here is why:

77.4% of North America and 28.7% of the World are using the internet and this is where your buyers are.

Over the past decade North America has seen a 146.3% increase in internet
users and we have seen an increase of 444.8% in internet users across the
globe.

This puts almost 2 Billion people on the internet today and this number is larger every day.

As for real estate a National Association of Realtors study in 2008 showed that 87% of all buyers used the internet to search for homes.

87%! You want those buyers to be able to easily find your home for sale in Western MA, don’t you?

Well, that is not always the easiest task, and like most technical things it requires someone with professional experience and expertise…someone like, well…ME!

I am skilled at internet marketing and online lead generation for your home for sale in Western Massachusetts. I have learned the tools necessary to have your listing to be featured on Google, realtor.com, Zillow, Trulia and other major search portals. More importantly, I have created systems that get the buyers to reach out to me to find out more information on your property. It is common knowledge that:

More inquiries=more showings=faster sale for higher price.

6 Strategies for Underwater Mortgages

On the most recent episode of the TREW Show, my co-host Nick and I discussed 6 strategies for underwater mortgages.

The unfortunate by-product of this difficult economy is the fact that many people are underwater or upside down in their home mortgage. We describe the options and strategies:

1- Stay and pay
2- Refinance
3- Loan modification
4- Short Sale
5- Foreclosure
6- Bankruptcy

Podcamp is Coming! Pod Camp Western MA 4

Podcamp Western Mass 2011
I am so excited to be attending my fourth Pod Camp in Western Massachusetts. PodCamp Western MA 1 was my first “unconference” ever and in attending that camp, I started my exciting journey deep into the geeky recesses of the interwebs and social media. PodCamp Western MA 4 will be at Holyoke Community College on Saturday, February 25, 2012.

I have now attended over ten camp style “unconferences” all over the country, but my favorite by far is Podcamp Western MA. Here in Western MA we have this really great crowd of talented and giving social media and internet rockstars who graciously share their knowledge in this fabulous format.

In case you aren’t sure what happens at a PodCamp, I will share my previous wrap-up posts from that last three PodCamp Western MA events:

PodCamp Western MA 1

PodCamp Western MA 2

PodCamp Western MA 3

Let me know if you have questions about PodCamp and I hope to see you there!

Romance, Excitement and Surprise in Western MA Real Estate

Sold!
Every closing is exciting and special, but yesterday I participated in one of the most romantic, exciting and fun closings in my 23 year real estate career.

My clients, Dan and Ania, had seen a home for sale in Westfield, MA that they offered on, but we couldn’t not come to agreeable terms. After a few days, I heard from Dan who said that he wanted to buy the home, but we had to get it closed in a week because he wanted to surprise his wife on their anniversary which was February 1.

It took a lot of hustling on our part, but we were able to get the home closed in time and then Dan started planning the reveal of the surprise.

Ania had noticed that the property had gone under agreement on the computer and had been commenting about it. In order to get her to the house for the reveal, Dan told her that there was an issue with the deal in place and we had to hurry up and meet to put an offer in. Meanwhile, he spent the day (Ania was at work) moving furniture and personal items so that they could spend that night in their new home.

We arrived early and Dan put up “Happy Anniversary” decorations while his mother, brother and I got our cameras ready to capture the reaction…I will let my video tell you about that part of this story:

A sweet addition to this story is that this home was the home of Albert Ferst, who is well known and loved in Westfield for his philanthropy and sweetness to his wife Amelia. It is a wonderful thing to see another family carry the romantic torch into the next generation of this home’s story.

It was a rare thrill to be part of this sweet home purchase and I wish Dan, Ania and their family many years of happiness in their new home. I am so glad that they let me help them make this dream happen and look forward to seeing them settle into their new home!
