Mama Cakes: Yummy Must-Try Bakery in Westfield, MA

Mama Cakes Cupcakes

Why, oh why, did Mama Cakes have to open up across the street from my office at Park Square Realty in Westfield and then go and create the most irresistible gourmet confections?

How am I supposed to lose weight with those scrumptious morsels calling me from across the street?

In all seriousness, this new bakery is not only adorable, but hosted by a friendly owner and her family and offers some unique taste treats. I stood and debated for awhile between the Pumpkin and Lemon cupcakes. Lemon won out for that day, but I will have to return to try the Pumpkin, or whatever other delicious thing tempts me!

I took a few pictures to torture you until you can make a visit to Mama Cakes yourself:

Mama Cakes is on Elm Street in Westfield, across the street from Park Square Realty and the recently opened Ezra’s Mercantile.

Give me a shout out before you get there and I will treat you to a cupcake!

Updated to add: they are taking pie orders for the holidays and are baking bread now, too.  PS. the lemon, pumpkin and apple are THE BEST!

Went to Florida to avoid Hurricane Irene

I am sitting in sunny Tallahassee, Florida because I can’t get back to Massachusetts due to the hurricane this weekend.

I came to Florida to speak at the Florida REALTORS State Conference and enjoy the Real Estate BarCamp Orlando event. It was an amazing week of sharing social media tips, teaching Twitter and video blogging, visiting with great friends and enjoying some warm sunshine.

When leaving Massachusetts, I had been concerned that I may be flying into Irene…oddly enough there was no effect from the hurricane in Orlando, whatsoever. Going home, however, was another issue. We are unable to get out of Florida before Wednesday due to all of the backlog on delayed flights. Our friend Debbie Kirkland brought us up to her house in Tallahassee where we are hanging out for a few days.

Besides the fact that I really miss my kids, it isn’t such a bad problem to have. I have been watching Twitter and Facebook and am amazed at the pictures and videos I see posted! Westfield looks to be dealing with a lot of flooding and I hope my friends and clients are all doing well.

I had a wonderful time speaking and teaching social media this week, but I am looking forward to getting back to Park Square Realty where I can use my expertise to help people who are buying a home or selling a home in Western MA.

Welcome to Downtown Westfield: Ezra’s Mercantile

Downtown Westfield, MA has a few new businesses working on opening up on Elm Street, which is a terrific sight to see.  Last week I took the time to shop at Ezra’s Mercantile on Elm Street in Westfield, MA and was excited to find that it is a completely adorable shop.

Their slogan is: “A new place to shop for, Pizazz, Provisions and Presents”

The store is decorated in a classic vintage theme with items that reflect a vintage or homespun feel. They have some Westfield T-shirts with an image of the new clock tower and wooden signs and other decor that is Westfield themed. There is a cute toy section, jewelry, home goods and beauty items.

I, for one, will be stopping in often as the store is only two doors from
my desk at Park Square Realty on Elm Street in Westfield, MA.
Here are a few more pictures that I took:

Park Square Realty Westfield, MA Sales Leaders

It is no secret that I work hard at my career in real estate.  It is my privilege to help people with the transitions in home ownership and I love my work as a REALTOR for Park Square Realty in Westfield, MA. What an amazing thing when doing the thing you enjoy brings some accolades, too!  I am so grateful and proud to have been named one of the top three sales leaders for Park Square Realty in Westfield, MA for the second quarter of 2011. What is more important to me than the sales numbers is the number of friends, family and clients that have helped me to achieve this goal.  Real estate has never been more demanding and as a top producing agent for Park Square Realty I need the support of a lot of people to remain successful. My daughters and I want to thank all of my friends, family, management at Park Square Realty, loyal clients and my ever supportive boyfriend, Morriss Partee for their tireless support in helping me to grow as a REALTOR. If you are considering selling your Western MA home or buying a home in Western MA, I hope you will consider reaching out to me to assist you in this process…you could be the next person I thank!
