Westfield Area Contractor List Compiled by Lesley Lambert, Westfield REALTOR with Park Square Realty

The other week I took a question to the members of the “We Love Westfield Community Forum” on Facebook. I asked them, “Who do you recommend for your assorted home repairs?”.

The answers came flooding in and I have now compiled a list of these recommendations. I want to make it clear that I am merely putting these recommendations into one list and would advise everyone to read the following statement:

The following list of contractors and service people was compiled from the suggestions of the residents of the Westfield area, primarily via the Facebook group “We Love Westfield Community Forum”. Individuals are advised that the current licensing and good standing of these businesses has not been verified and that the individuals using this list should perform their own due diligence.

Grant-Funded Smoke Detector Installation Available for Westfield Seniors

If you live in Westfield, MA and are 60 years old or older, you may be eligible to get your smoke detectors updated and inspected at no charge.

Free grant-funded smoke and carbon monoxide detectors are available through the Council on Aging for Westfield residents 60 and older who meet income eligibility requirements. Income guidelines are $29,425 for an individual and $39,825 for a couple, including Social Security income.

Residents who currently have no detectors or do not have detectors in the mandated locations or whose detectors are older than ten years old are encouraged to apply.

A member of the Westfield Fire Department will do a home inspection to assess the number and type of detectors needed. Installation is done by the students in the electrical wireing program at Westfield Vocational Technical High School under the supervision of instructor Gary Martineau.

Under the Senior Safe Grant which is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Fire Services, there is no charge to eligible older adults for either the detectors or the installation.

Looking for some good individuals and businesses to get involved in a part of Westfield, MA history!

I am excited to announce that I am now volunteering as a board member for the Friends of the Westfield Senior Center in Westfield, MA. This organization is responsible for the fundraising for the capital campaign for the new Senior Center which is under construction and should open in the Fall of 2015.

This project is a huge undertaking and requires the assistance of the community members and businesses. This your chance to have your family name, business or organization’s name placed prominently in this state of the art building that will serve as a wonderful service to the senior citizens of the Westfield area.

The Spring Real Estate Market is Already in BLOOM in Westfield, MA!

The weather over the past month in Western MA has been getting a lot of people down. It is difficult to stay positive when it keeps snowing and temperatures are at an all time low, but I was inspired to try to turn a positive spin on the looming snow banks in Westfield, MA!

Armed with spray bottles and food colored water, my friend Julianne Krutka and I headed out the front doors of Park Square Realty to spread a little spring cheer to the residents of Westfield, MA!

I decided to issue a challenge to the residents and business owners of Westfield to get them involved. Here is my video throwing down the gauntlet:

Within a couple of hours residents started posting their artwork:
