Investing in Western MA Real Estate

I grew up watching my parents invest in real estate and have worked with many real estate investors in Western Massachusetts and have been an investor myself.

Real estate investments can be a fabulous addition to your investment portfolio, if you make careful and tactical decisions.

The really good news if you are considering investing in Western MA real estate is NOW is a great time for you to buy property. Whether you are looking to purchase property to retain for rentals or something to fix and resell (or flip), this is a great time.

Why?

#1- home prices have really bottomed out and a new wave of foreclosures and short sales which are potentially great buys for a savvy real estate investor in Western Massachusetts.

#2- Interest rates are outstanding right now. They have below 5% for some time and the last two weeks have been below 4.5% for some programs.

Condo living can be great. I live in a condo and I love it…it feels like going home to a resort and all the exterior work is done. For many people, they hit a point in their life where the condominium lifestyle is perfect for them, BUT…

They can’t get financing.

Did you know that in 2010 almost 40% of mortgages issued were through FHA? Did you know that a condominium complex has to be approved by HUD and FHA before you can use an FHA loan to purchase the condominium? Did you know that most Western Massachusetts condominiums are not on the approved list?
