Look Ma- I am in REALTOR Magazine!

photo.JPG

It is no secret that I am a big fan of all things social media and technology in real estate. Using location-based applications is no exception. I have been using applications like Brightkite, Foursquare and Gowalla for a couple of years now in Western MA and have spent a lot of time thinking about how I can utilize them to help with exposure in the local Western MA real estate market.

Last summer I wrote a post on this topic for Agent Genius magazine geared toward sharing some of my thoughts on how location based applications like Foursquare can be used in a marketing and branding sense to expose real estate agents to a new market.

I was beyond flattered when REALTOR Magazine emailed me and asked if they could use some of my post as a quote in an upcoming article on the same subject. Yesterday my broker presented me with the magazine and when I saw the article I was even MORE excited because I shared space in the story with Todd Carpenter, NAR’s social media manager. Todd and I have had the opportunity to meet a few times and I am so honored to be quoted in the same story!

If you want to take a look at the REALTOR Magazine story, click here. I am so proud to see my quote followed up by says Lesley Lambert, a sales associate with Park Square Realty in Westfield, Mass!

If you are interested in learning more about social media, technology or location-based applications you can contact me. If you want a REALTOR who is using new media techniques to help her clients achieve their home-ownership dreams then definitely contact me!

Does your Western MA Realtor do this? QR Codes for Real Estate

QR Code used by Lesley LambertWhat is a QR Code, you ask? Watch this QR Code video for a quick explanation of what a QR Code is and how it can be used to help sell your Western MA home.

It is an exciting time in the world of real estate marketing. Old school advertising campaigns don’t work and the internet is bringing fresh new ideas to the forefront. I am always learning and trying new media marketing techniques to help my sellers to sell their Western MA home.

Here are some ways that I use QR Codes to help market and sell homes in Western MA:

Sign riders.
I purchase a custom sign attachment for every listing with their individual property web page and a QR code prominently displayed to make it easy for buyers on the go to get information about a property they drove past.

Video.
Each of my properties gets a virtual tour video. I include the QR code as a slide at the end of the video.

My blog.
I have my QR Code badge displayed on the home page of my blog so that visitors can scan and go directly to a feed of all of my listings.

Print advertising.
I include the QR code on my “Just Listed” and “Just Sold” postcards.

Direct mail.
I am sending everyone in my sphere a mailing with a QR code and an invitation to try it out.

Flyers.
Your property flyer will have a QR Code displayed to make that flat piece of paper a multi-media experience.

Does your Western MA REALTOR do that? I do!

If you want an innovative real estate agent who is moving ahead with the times to make the home buying and home selling process easier, then call Lesley Lambert of Park Square Realty in Westfield, MA 01085. 413.575.3611

Excited for PodCamp Boston 5

Steve Sherlock and I running the registration at #pcwm2
I am very excited to be attending PodCamp Boston 5 this weekend. I am not new to PodCamp or unconference Camps at all, but this is my first PodCamp Boston and since it was the originator, I am extra excited to attend.

The real energy of a camp is the opportunity to meet new people (and revisit old friends) who share a common interest and a goal of sharing their knowledge with other attendees. The meetings started pre-camp for me via Twitter and the #pcb5 hashtag and was further facilitated by Chris Penn’s “Follow Friday” list today (I followed all of you!), but I really can’t wait to meet you in person!

As a REALTOR in Western Massachusetts, I have been exploring the use of social media for business and personal growth for a few years now. I love the fact that this journey is never-ending as the new media space expands, changes and adapts to the needs of the users. I have had an amazing journey with social media and am ever grateful for the gifts it has brought me.

I look forward to facilitating a discussion on “All Things Twitter” on Sunday. I love to discuss how I have utilized Twitter to meet people in my area who have become my friends and clients (and a boyfriend). I especially enjoy talking about “Taking Twitter Face to Face” and how to move off the online world and into a real meeting.

The thing I most look forward to is sharing discussions on things like Twitter with others who embrace the same ideals of networking and learning something new from them. If you are going to be there, be sure to say hello!

What Does A High Tech Realtor Do?

A high tech realtor takes the marketing goodies that the internet has to offer and turns it into purposeful tools to get her listings in front of the most people possible. Exposure to a larger audience means a larger pool of potential buyers and potentially a faster sale for a higher price. I use the new media (internet marketing, social media sites, etc) to optimize the exposure for the homes I represent in Western Massachusetts. Using new media like customized web sites, blogs, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin and others, I reach out through my computer to get in touch with buyers.

Although you're far...

My New Media Marketing plan takes a traditional marketing plan that includes mailings, signage and print advertising and puts rocket boosters on it! ZOOM….your home is exposed to thousands of buyers!

For example my listings are marketed to a large arena of websites including:

and this is just a partial list!

In addition my listings are featured with their own website. Visit the page for this listing to see for yourself. These sites feature video, lots of pictures, maps, flyers, open house information, contact information and details of the home. There is also a text code available for mobile phone users to obtain the information via text. Each home has a specialty sign rider with this information making it easy for buyers to view pictures, documents and other information on the property.

Another page that I host allows potential buyers to contact me by live chat! I take tons of pictures of my listings and every property has a video “virtual tour” posted so that buyers can preview the home before they make an appointment.

My listings are optimized for internet searches. Today’s buyers start at the internet. They may drive by a home and instead of calling the phone number on the sign, they will put the home’s address into Google. This is what they will see for one of my listings. Buyers from around the world can find listings this way, not just the local Western Massachusetts ones!

So, if you are considering listing your home in Western Massachusetts for sale, I hope you will let me visit to show you my plan in person. I enjoy being the High Tech Realtor with Old Fashioned Service for over 20 years in Westfield and surrounding Western MA towns!

I am Going To PodCamp Western MA 2!

PodCamp Western Mass

I am very excited that this weekend I will be attending PodCamp Western MA 2.  A little less than a year ago I attended the first PodCamp Western MA, which was also my first social media camp of any kind.

What a difference a year (or a bit less) can make!  Since that first camp experience I have attended and taught at many more around the country.

These social media camps provide an energized environment of peer to peer sharing and teaching.  They are the best way I  have found to learn to utilize new media for my real estate business.  The things I have learned at these camps have provided me with tools and strategies to offer my home sellers added marketing that other agents don’t offer.  I have been able to reach out to the residents of Western Massachusetts and share my real estate expertise with home buyers and sellers.

I have met some of the most important people in my life including my boyfriend (Morriss Partee co-organizer of PodCamp Western MA), my business partners in social media training, clients and friends.  I have grown my sphere and become knowledgeable in the use of new media tools…people now turn to me for information and advice.  I wrote this past fall about the gifts that social media has brought me…I am so grateful!

Last year I was nervous walking into PodCamp.  I didn’t know anyone and I wasn’t sure what to expect.   This year I will be surrounded by some of the people I like most, talking about topics that excite me and leading a session:  “Tweetdeck to the Rescue!”.

I left last year’s event so excited and full of new ideas, I practiced my new found skills in a video blog :”A PodCamp Virgin Tells All” about the event.  I know I will leave this year with even more new tools and new friends….I just can’t wait!

If you are attending PodCamp WesternMA 2 and we haven’t met yet, be sure to introduce yourself and feel free to ask me about real estate, Twitter, Facebook, blogging, video blogging, the weather….whatever you want to talk about! I can’t wait!

If you want to start connecting before the event, here are my profiles:
